Canadian Medical System could be complex, and intimidating in some sense, especially for an IMG.
As an IMG one needs bring to the table a mixture of multiple factors in order to succeed, be it a residency match or practice ready program, fundamentals, however, are always the same. You must pass certain exams and have some degree of exposure to the Canadian Health System in terms of volunteering, observership or research.
Recently exam scores proved to play as a pivotal primary cut-off criterion especially in the Canadian Resident Matching Services ( CaRMS) process particularly for the popular Family Practice residency.
Usually the exams are MCCEE, MCCQE-1, NAC-OSCE, MCCQE-2, and probably soon TDM, on top of an English Proficiency Test, namely IELTS.
